Raymond Patrick Murphy

1950-1996

Raymond was born on 1st October 1950 in Carshalton, Surrey.

He was a Police Cadet with Hampshire Constabulary from 11th September 1967 to 9th October 1969. He then joined Hampshire Constabulary on 10th October 1969 as Police Constable 738. He was living at 11 Roope Close, St Budeaux, Plymouth.

On 8th April 1972 Raymond married Shelagh Warwick at Winchester Register Office.

He served at Newport and Portswood before being appointed as a Detective Constable and posted to Lymington. In 1980 Raymond was promoted to uniform Sergeant and posted to ‘F’ Southampton Central. He returned to CID as a Detective Sergeant in 1986 and was posted to AA Aldershot CID.

Raymond died in July 1996 in Southampton.
