The solid silver German Shepherd Dog figure was presented to the Force in 1961 by Miss G H Chrystal JP. It was awarded to the Handler and Dog who got the highest marks over two rounds. Part 1 being Obedience, Agility and Criminal Work. Part 2 was the Nosework Exercises of Tracking and Searching for property and persons. It was competed for between 1961 and 1999, and then again between 2014 and 2015. The first winners were PC 144 Leslie Goodall (served 1949 to 1977) and his German Shepherd Dog, Flash. The last winners in 2015 were PC Glen Kreffer and Riley. PC 1766 David Owen served (1974 to 2004) has won the trophy on five occasions once with Simba and four times with Buster.
