Peter John Parsons Brown

1931-1988

Peter was born on 24th October 1931 in Stoneham, Eastleigh. His parents were John Henry Parson Brown and Bessie Rosa Findlow.

He married Marjorie W Maton on 27th December 1952, their daughter Shirley was born in July 1958.

Peter joined Hampshire Constabulary as PC 703 on 26th November 1954. At the time he was a Supply Assistant with the Royal Navy, having been discharged after 5 years service on 22nd November 1954. He was living at 57 Desborough Road, Eastleigh.

He served at Eastleigh, Fleet, Basingstoke and Tadley. In 1965 Peter was appointed as a Detective Constable (SOC) and posted to Totton. He then served at SW Support HQ (Hulse Road), Shirley and ‘O’ Dept SWHQ (Drugs).

In July 1972 Peter was promoted to the rank of Detective Sergeant and posted to Southampton Central. His final postings were to Shirley and ‘O’ Headquarters. He retired on 5th April 1985.

Peter died on 8th March 1988 in Southampton.
