Daniel Edward Golding

1976-2022

Died 18/08/22 – Age 46

PC for Hants and Metropolitan police. Killed when his unmarked police motorcycle was in a collision with a van while on duty in Hertfordshire.

Dan joined the Metropolitan Police six months earlier, having transferred from Hampshire Constabulary where he was a Roads Policing Officer and Instructor. He had also served in Surrey Police. He was based at the driving academy.

Over several years Dan had escorted and protected The Queen and many others at national events and international summits. He had hoped to gain a full-time role with the Special Escort Group (SEG).
