Colin Charles Hitchcocks

1949-1997

Colin was born on 25th August 1949 in Portsmouth to John Stanley and Irene Hitchcocks. His brother, Brian, was born in 1939.

On 4th July 1970 at St Francis Church, Leigh Park he married Anne Irene Swift .

He was a motor mechanic working for Gordon Motors, Cosham, Portsmouth and was living at 12 Glasgow Road, Milton, Portsmouth.

Colin joined Hampshire Constabulary on 4th September 1970 as PC 1003 and after initial training he was posted to Lyndhurst. On 1st October 1971 he was posted to Farnborough.

On 4th January 1974 Colin received a Chief Constable’s Commendation for his consistent alertness and good work in connection with crime.

Colin died on 29th March 1997 at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey.
